Join us for a lively celebration, informal discussion and Middle Eastern food! Everyone is welcome.

There will be brief opening remarks on the main themes and questions, helping people appreciate why this journal matters. Learn from the international communist movement, from Egypt, the Arab Spring and upsurges halfway around the world. If you are new to these questions and are checking it out, or have been engaging these issues for sometime, come by, learn more about this movement for revolution and explore Bob Avakian's new synthesis of communism.

This journal has everything to do with bringing about a new and better world. Without understanding the world, without theory, we cannot change the world.

This edition of Demarcations has three articles about a debate that has broken out among those who consider themselves communists and revolutionaries internationally, from the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA, the Revolutionary Communist Organization, Mexico (OCR) and the Communist Party of Iran (Marxist-Leninist-Maoist.

A long brewing debate has fully exploded into the open over whether communist revolution is viable and desirable in today’s world, and what constitutes the framework of a new stage of communist revolution, with Bob Avakian’s new synthesis communism as the central reference and focal point in this debate.

The other sharp question addressed in Demarcations comes out of the contemporary experience of the upsurges of the Arab Spring in Egypt and Tunisia, struggles that have momentous and world historic implications for all those who seek liberation and emancipation, which are spoken to in:

Samuel Albert: Egypt, Tunisia and the Arab Spring: How the Revolts Came to an Impasse and How to Get Out of It

Bob Avakian: Egypt 2011, Millions Have Heroically Stood UP...The Future Remains to Be Written

There is also an important article by Raymond Lotta: “On the Driving Force of Anarchy and the Dynamics of Change, A Sharp Debate and Urgent Polemic: The Struggle for a Radically Different World and the Struggle for a Scientific Approach to Reality.”

The underlying theme in all this is: What is the solution to the madness and horror in the world today? Is there one? Yes. Bob Avakian’s new synthesis of communism provides a scientific and very concrete answer and approach to this very question.
